39 Steps Coffee Haus opens in Soho

A new coffee shop which offers a wide variety of differently-brewed coffee types with a strong focus on the story and origins of its beans, has opened on D’Arblay Street, in Soho, London.

39 Steps Coffee House, named after the number of stages it claims take place between ‘bean on the bush to the cup in your hand’, offers hand brews, cold brews, nitro brews, coffee smoothies and coffee milkshakes alongside cold pressed juices.

The manufacturing process at the site is overseen by head roaster, Jens Rettig (above), who procures his coffee products from independent local growers in India,Brazil, Mexico and El Salvador.

Customers are given the option of watching a vareity of coffee making techniques while waiting for their drink. The methods include Pour Over, Syphon, Chemex and French Press.

The food menu at the 25-cover site is made up of a daily bake selection and eggs-any-way (with various toppings) through to homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and freshly-made cakes and desserts.

The company lists its 'food highlights' as its pulled pork panini with tomato and cheddar cheese; slow-cooked lamb burger with spiced tahini yoghurt and caramelised onions served in a brioche bun and smoked salmon rolls stuffed with beetroot and lentils.
